These 7 Pullman Standard Prewar Fluted 17 Roomette/1 Section Sleepers were delivered to the Santa Fe in early '38 for use on the "Chief." The cars were converted to 48 seat Coaches in '60, with names replaced with numbers: "Chaco/2804," "Chinle/2805," "Maito/2806," "Otowi/2807," "Tonto/2808," "Tuba/2809," and "Paria/2810." The floor plan of these cars was identical to Plan 4068F, with the difference being fluting on the skirts of 4068F. Two of the cars were sold to Amtrak and then scrapped in '73. The other 5 were sold to New York area commuter agencies.
