These 6 Pullman Standard Prewar Fluted 4 Drawing Room/1 Bedroom/Lounge Observations were delivered to the Santa Fe in early '38 for use the "Chief." They had no bar or buffet service. They ran on the "Chief" until '54 when the round ends were squared off for mid-train operation. They did place windows on the squared off end, so the cars remained "Observations." They were then used on the "San Francisco Chief." Four of the cars were converted to 48 Seat Coaches in '60. "Betahtakin/2812, Biltabito/2815, Chaistla/2813, Chuska/2814, Coconino, and Denehotso." Denehotso was given to Steamtown.
