These 2 PS smooth side 48 seat diners were delivered to Illinois Central in early '42 for service on the "Panama Limited".  The cars had a distinctive window arrangement due to the fact that the booth space at either end had no windows.  The cars were replaced in '50 with the purchase of C&O twin unit diners.  The names were "Evangeline" and "Vieux Carre".  Both cars were retrired and sold in '71.
