These five PS Smooth Side 44 Seat Coaches were delivered to Southern Pacific in late '49. Two of the cars, #2380 and #2381, wore the yellow and gray of the "City of San Francisco" and three, #2399 - Golden Nugget, #2400 - Golden Bar, and #2401 - Golden Flake, wore the red and silver of the "Golden State." The two COSF cars went to SP excursion service and two of the GS cars went to Signal Instruction service on the SP.
