These cars were Budd built with fluting under the window panels. They were delivered to Southern Pacific for use on the "Sunset Limited" in July of 1950. They were stainless steel with a red stripe above the windows running the length of the car. The Coffee Shop Lounge, "The Pride of Texas," provided economical food and beverage service for coach passengers. They were decorated in a Ranch motif with branded leather, steer heads and Mexican spurs. They were numbered 10407 to 10411 and all 5 were sold to Amtrak in 1971.
