These cars were Budd built with fluting below the window panels. They were delivered to Southern Pacific for use on the "Sunset Limited" in May of 1950. They were stainless steel with a red stripe above the windows running the length of the car. These cars had "Sleepy Hollow" seats that featured an adjustable back and a leg rest which could be placed out of sight underneath. Each chair had a foot rest and individual ash tray. Two cars of this style were used on the "Golden State"...#2377 Golden Ore and #2377 Golden Sand. The 13 Sunset cars were numbered 2364 to 2376 and all 15 were sold to Amtrak in 1971.
