These 2 cars were delivered in 10/39 for use on the “Rocky Mountain Rocket.” Named “Thunder Mountain” and “Phantom Valley,” they were converted to mid-train service by mounting a diaphragm on the round end with sheet metal. Phantom Valley was sold to a private owner in ’65 and Thunder Mountain was sold to Joliet Railway equipment in ’68.
