These cars were delivered in 08/49 for use on the “City of” trains. 9 were owned by UP and 3 by C&NW, which converted 2 to full baggage cars in ’60 and then to work train service in ’71 and the other sold to NP in ’62. 5 of the UP cars had steam boilers installed in ’62; the other 4 went to Amtrak.
