#3816 UP ACF Smooth Side 14 Section Sleeper

These 14 cars were delivered in early '54 for use on the "City of Portland," "Challenger" and "City of Denver."  They were named in the "Alpine" series.  All were rebuilt to 44 Seat Coaches in '65 and numbered 5543 to 5556.  All went to Amtrak.
