8 of these cars were delivered to B&O and 8 to KCS in 6/48 for use in B&O's premier trains and KCS's "Southern Belle." All of the B&O cars were scrapped between '67 and '69. 3 of the KCS cars were sold to LIRR in '68, 3 were sold to private owners and 2 went to Amtrak in '74.
