#972 RI Budd Fluted Side Parlor-Observation

These cars were delivered to Rock Island in late '37 for use on various "Rocket" articulated trainsets. The "Kansas City," "Rocket" and "Texas" Rockets were 3 car sets with one Baggage-Dinet(#969), one 76 Seat Coach (#970) and one Observation Parlor Coach.  The "Peoria" and "Des Moines" Rockets were four car trainsets that included a 60 Seat Coach (#971).  Disposition of the cars is not known.
